For 8 months Jo, Sean, and I planned and Skyped overseas all the way from England for their Grand Canyon destination wedding.
The day began at the El Tovar Hotel overlooking the Grand Canyon south rim. Friends and family began pampering; In the lounge bar, Sean opened Jo’s wedding gift to him while the maid of honor, Louise, helped Jo into her elegant wedding dress. Soon, everyone made their way to the private area at Shoshone Point, with the stunning canyon as the background for their ceremony they said their “I Do’s”. Afterwards, we made our way to the Shoshone Point cliff for photos. The almost 360-degree view from the edge was beyond breathtaking, with dark storm clouds and rain off to the side…the lighting was just perfect. Everyone was in shock of the breathtaking Grand Canyon view as the background for Jo and Sean, snapping photos with their cameras behind me. Their intimate picnic reception followed under a covered gazebo just as showers of ‘good luck’ rain began. Sean’s father read his best man speech which brought tears and laughter to their family. Letters from friends who were unable to travel to America were also read aloud. The rest of the evening was spent with a few last sunset pictures at the rim and celebratory drinks inside El Tovar.
Jo and Sean, I cannot thank you enough for letting me be apart of your unforgettable wedding and capturing your first day as husband and wife at one of the most beautiful wonders of the world!
